Do you remember Ring Pops??  I use to love them when I was a kid! Ring Pops were cute and stylish, tasted great, and of course smelled like delicious candy!  These three fragrances invoke all of these things, just as planned!  The packaging is even beautiful and fun!  The Seductive red  Mines Again , the yellow sunny  Honey, and the blue floral Ribbon are in small jeweled toned bottles topped with the Mariah Carey signature butterfly! Everything about these fragrances are perfect!

When I opened the box  - I was shocked to see there were three boxes named Lollipop Bling, but as I read closer I could see it was a collection.  I absolutely love this collection!  I select my daily fragrances according to my mood - as a Trendsetter should ! There  are no other words to descibe the scents other than yummy, flirty, sensual, mouth watering, and enchanting!   I have worn one of the three fragrances almost daily since I received them - even better people have asked what are you wearing, I love that!  I quickly state Lollipop Bling by Mariah Carey, lol, and send them to the nearest Macy's!  And I am sure your all wondering how much these fragrances cost  well...... Each bottle is 30ml which is equal to 1.0 fl oz for a mere $36.00, now you cant tell me that something so beautiful and smells so irresistible can't  be purchased  at  that great cost!?!

Trendsetters, again looking great is so important, but smelling great is just as important too! Mariah Carey has been setting trends for years  - and she has definitely set another with the Lollipop Bling Collection.. Calling all Beautiful, Trendsetting, Seductive, Fun , and Young at heart....this is a season must have find one that works for you or buy all three:)!  And yet again, Mariah has stolen my heart  with another fab and glam fragrance!

Fashion's Night Out - NYC

As The Trendsetter walked the streets of NYC  in a short round toed Slouchy Boot with an Anara Original Bustle Skirt, White Beater and Fitted Black Blazer  for the Fashion's Night Out Event , with all the excitement and incredible fashion in the city - I make my first stop at Roberto Cavalli!  The beautiful and talented Solange Knowles was spinning for the evening  in a stunning white sheer top and solid white bottom .  We love her style! She is always true to herself and always makes a trendsetting statement in anything she wears!

 

Charlotte Ronson & Michelle Tachtenberg

Designer Charlotte Ronson  Next Stop.... Who held a very energetic event At JC Penny's on 33rd. Cupcake decorating, live music form DJ Samantha Ronson, and guest appearance form Michelle Trachtenberg of Gossip Girl made this event spectacular!  Michelle Trachtenberg and Charlotte Ronson spoke about the new line, life in the industry, and fashion.  The miniature pastel cupcakes were delicious and the Izzi Drink were light and refreshing! Thanks for the invite Charlotte!

And as the night went on of course we were looking for the most fabulous! Many trendsetters were out, stay tuned in for their posts.  Well, Back to FNO my last stop was at Bloomingdales!  Talk about a party .....it was live in Bloomies, there was a different feel of music on two floors - a great way to end my evening!  So, I ended my night not only in style, but with great music, and great company! 

I love my Trendsetters so this season , we kept it strictly business well for the most part. Next season... we will be doing what we love most SHOPPING! There were some great sales and I must be apart of that the next time around!  The industry of Fashion is so awesome I love being apart and wouldn't want to be apart of any other!

The Day After the 82nd Oscars

The 82nd Oscar Awards were yesterday evening. So, you know we had to bring you a tidbit of the fab and glamour. I must say I wasn't in complete awl with the fashion/gown choices this year! But we definitely had some stunning beauties!

Is it just me or does Sarah Jessica Parker always appear in the role of Carrie Bradshaw? She was stunning in her Chanel Couture gown, that she has to return today *her words on the red carpet*! And husband Matthew Broderick wearing a well tailored classic style Tom Ford Tux! Now, that's a head turning couple! Congrats to Ms. Oscar winning Mo'Nique wearing a curve hugging, in all the right places, Tadashi Shoji gown! She appeared very old hollywood with a white Gardenia flower in her hair, beautiful! And there is nothing like having a dapper man by your side, her husband Sidney Hicks...Loving the glasses Sir!

The Ever Classic Meryl Streep was beautifully stunning in her all white gown, but when isn't she beautiful? Actually, her gown had a little trend empire waist and faux wrap. She appeared fresh and alive. A true veteran..we love her! Another veteran who has built an empire for herself is Mariah Carey. She kept it classic as well in a Navy Valentino gown with vintage inspired oversized broach at the waistline. Now one thing the trendsetter doesn't do is bash people, but I want everyone to know including Mariah a well polished look begins underneath, its your foundation. Enough said.....
One Trend that will appear this spring is nude *color* and Demi Moore did it all so well in this gown! It was just enough drama and elegance for a Class act :)! Queen Latifah looked amazing in her one shoulder gown *another trend* in light lilac. She glowed in this gown, it was a perfect style and shape for her curvy bod! Congrats to Sandra Bullock who won an Oscar! Her velvet embellished gown by Marchesa had frock like inspiration! The Perfect dress for a First time winner!

Vera Farmiga also wearing Marchesa, looked like a walking piece of art! Striking color and intricate design. Zoe Saldana wore a flowy Lavender Givenchy gown, although it was alot of dress I thought she looked great in the gown. A couture barbie doll is what she looked like, she wore the dress with grace and confidence ........She is a beautiful young woman!

From the looks of the red carpet I predict showing shoulders will be one of the prominent trends for the upcoming season! Time to start looking for those dresses and tops that show just a little extra skin * please be tasteful ;)! Okay my loves ....

Twinkle by Wenlan Fall Collection

Striking hues of mustard, mauve, olive green, and royal blue frolic the runway this season in Twinkle's collection. Black finds a new romance with nude and vanilla to follow. Jacquards summon light, nude and sheer chiffon's duet, and chucky and baby knits dominate. The collection conveys flattering silhouettes and slimmer lines. Hardware-exposed zippers, beading, studs, and chains push these looks to the max!

This was a very feminine collection and I adored the play on color, texture, and the subtle hardware detail, it was just enough! Walking down 42nd and Lexington in NYC I couldn't resist ducking into Payless to avoid the weather. Well, that's the excuse I tell myself *smiling*! Payless has definitely changed its market and product over the years! They have acquired many designer lines that are stylish and of better quality but, have maintained the Payless price point.

Lela Rose, Christian Siriano, Alice+Olivia, and Fergie are just a few of the more stylish lines that can currently be found at Payless. People always ask me where I shop and how do I dress on a budget? Well, this is one of my best kept secrets, that I am now sharing with you :)! I don't purchase my entire show wardrobe here, but because of the mega upgrade to designer styles I definitely sprinkle in a few pair here and there! Norma Kamali Organic Juice Bar *Snippet*

Society has been steadily advocating healthy eating habits and healthy living and so does Legendary Designer Norma Kamali.

I stopped by the Norma Kamali Flagship store and while there I visited the organic Juice Bar. The Juice Bar is located right in the store, shopping and refreshments ... what more can you ask for? The Juice bar carries tasty snacks; dried fruits and berries and many others along with a daily juice menu. The juices are freshly delivered daily for the best product. I stopped in on a Monday so the menu consisted of young love and raw green soup juice, I must admit I was a little nervous considering the names. So, I opted for organic lemonade and it was heavenly! It had such a refreshing taste and smell *yum*! Its important to stay hydrated and to eat healthy for our overall well being! So, next time your in the NYC area stop pass the NK Organic juice and snack bar! Let's look good and feel good!

Vassilios Kostetsos Athens Collection 2010

"Love unconquered in the battle" a verse from the ancient Greek drama Antigony *circa 442BC*, inspired Eros Mahan the Anikate Fall 2010-11 collection of Vassilios Kostetsos. Viewing the collection was like experiencing a story unfold before my eyes!

The color Red was used to symbolize love and passion. While black symbolized Antigone's brothers death the hues of bronze captured the weapons used in battle and the harshness of battle was created with none of than leather. Vassilios continues his consistant theme and inspiration of the "God of Love"using flesh tone sheer materials. He carries out the same theme with accessories like tights and gloves exemplifying a tattoo of love and lust. The modern sculpturing of draping completes the Greek story of Antigony with leather design and evening dresses.

I love to read a really good book, but in this instance I loved seeing the extraordinary story come to life in front of me. Vassilios created an extraordinary collection cohesive concept, vibrant and striking hues, and eloquent design. It was a great show, definitely a show stopper! Norma Kamali held her 2010 collection showing right at home , 11 west 56th Street The Norma Kamali Flagship Store NYC! If you are ever in the area you "MUST " stop by an engage in the Norma Kamali experience!

Norma Kamali actually has 3 lines; Norma Kamali, Norma Kamali for Ebay, and Norma Kamali for Walmart. I was told by showroom assistants that Norma specializes in multi-functional pieces. Pieces that can covert into multiple styles and can be worn with each other to give a complete Norma Kamali look! Norma Kamali for Ebay carries a Poly-Lycra striped top that can be transformed into a one shoulder, a two sleeve, a halter, and at least two other styles! My eyes immediately popped out of my head*thought: I MUST HAVE*! This item is $99 which is an investment because its so functional! After, seeing the capability of this item I must say it is worth every penny and its a great item for traveling! Also check out the Chiffon group exclusively for Ebay Super Fab!

Norma Kamali for Walmart carries a very similar item in organic cotton and jersey for $20, yes $20 ! Umm....yes I will be ordering ! And not only does Walmart carry the top they also carry the dress too for $24! Its available in black, red, and striped. Something I didn't know was that Walmart owns many organic cotton fields , which in return would explain why they carry Norma Kamali's organic cotton items. The Walmart line carries all the essentials, dresses pants, trench coats, tanks, cardigans , and so many other fun and exciting items! Dimmed lighting, beautiful tea light candles, tasteful cocktails and wine, and white drapery created a light airy and chic atmosphere! And then.....the spotlights hit the runway and the beat of the music hit BAM!

Irina Shabayeva's 2010 Fall collection presentedd by tupperware hit the runway!

Luxurious and soft furs, painted wing designs, over sized chucky knits, and fantasy peasant feathers made this collection absolutely stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After attending several shows prior, this show left me inspired and speechless definitely wanting more! The Trendsetter had the opportunity to chat briefly with last seasons Project Runway winner backstage after her breath-taking debut during Mercedes-Benz Fashion week!

TT: What Inspired your collection?
IS: It was all about flight...fantasy, liberation, and freedom. Wearable , but Beautiful and Free!
TT: Where is your line currently being carried?
IS: Well, as of right now no where, but *laughing as she sips her water* I am hoping Saks, Henri Bendel, and Burgdorf's will call soon!
TT: How do you believe Project Runway has impacted your career???
IS: The show definitely opened up many doors
TT: What advise would you give to any aspiring designers?

IS: WORK HARD! And when you don't think you can work any harder, WORK HARDER!
TT: And now that the show is over what do you wanna do???
IS: I wanna take a nap! *laughing* I am so exhausted and I wanna take a nap!

Irina is a gem, she was so down to earth and we really appreciated her taking out a few minutes to chat with us! Before I left we snapped a quick picture I congratulated her and repeatedly told her the collection was soooo stunning! Grade A TRENDSETTER status! I cant wait until September to see the spring collection!

Christian Siriano Fall Collection 2010

Christian Siriano was a past winner of the reality fashion show Project Runway, after winning many doors and great opportunities opened for this amazing designer! Christian is not only a clothing designer, but he has a line of shoes and handbags carried in Payless.

Christian showed his collection under the tents at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The collection started with beautiful tailored monochromatic cashmere and wool pieces for day to evening. And ended with a rich jewel toned color palette of royal blue, wine and fuchsia silks and organza creating the most show stopping cocktail and evening dresses, perfect for any red carpet event! I have to admit this collection was a surprised, we all know Christian to be extreme and dramatic, but although he toned it down this collection was out of sight!!!!! It's not everyday that a designer is
able to create a collection of everything you need in your closet!

Christian was inspired by the 1960's European women. The Parisian woman who "got dressed" everyday. This collection presented a modernized version of today's contemporary woman. I was and still am a huge fan of Christian's. I was honored to receive an invite to his showing! Congrats Christian, I am so proud of you! Christian is a true TRENDSETTER , confident and amazing!

Ports 1961 - Fall Collection 2010

Tia Cibani ventures into a realm that is rooted in the past yet reaches for the future.

As the bright lights hit the runway, Thursday during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, a rich color palette of Mulberry, Tobacco, Grey, and Rosemary emerged in the fall collection of Ports 1961. Ports 1961 drew upon traditional skills and vintage construction techniques to create a collection with structured basics, fine leather jackets, and feminine draped silhouettes that are perfect for a women's body.

Innovative Textiles, Printed Silk facings, Soft volumes under rigorous outwear essentials, and glazed ceramic & blown glass jewelry , this was the nurtured vision of the collection "Craeft" , the key components and details which made this collection funky and beautiful! The "Craeft" collection is classic, but embraces the future.

Welcome to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week *NYC* 2010

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2010 has began! Industry professionals and celebrities have poured in this week, February 11th - 18th, for the biggest twice annual fashion event of the year ! Since 1993 Mercedes-Benz fashion week has been held in the beautiful Bryant Park! The Park began to complain that American Fashion's biggest event was growing to large so, we have all come together one more time to bid fairwell to Bryant Park....Although Bryant Park will be missed we can always reflect on the memories of the show stopping fashion and style that has grown and graced the presence of the runway! The first Fashion week was called"Press Week" in 1943. The attempt was to try and gear more attention towards American fashion and away from French week. Although, the name has changed two things have remained the same; admission is by Invite ONLY and The collections are always memorable and breath-taking! The series of large white tents , averaging in size to about a block long, have a Brand new home come September , Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park. This park is much larger and will be able to accommodate this continuous growing Fashion event. And on that note my loves its time to go and enjoy the shows! See ya under the tents! Fairwell Bryant Park !
